Planning & Consents

Heritage Statements

IPC has produced bespoke Heritage Statements for a wide range of buildings, from Victorian Villas, to moated Manors and large Country Houses.

Heritage Statements accompany applications for Listed Building Consent, and identify the important characteristics of the heritage asset, assessing their significance and the impact of the proposed capital alterations.

IPC uses a range of evidence, including photographic, documentary and cartographic sources, to understand the historic development and unique features of each property.

Statements of Significance & Need

These statements are essential when considering repairs or new works in a church and describe the building’s historic development and the benefit of the proposed works. Such statements lay out the limitations and potential of the Church, and how ‘harm’ to the building’s significance can be minimised. These benefit from IPC’s knowledge of ecclesiastical buildings, and their understanding of how Churches function.

Statutory Bodies

IPC acts as liaison between clients and statutory bodies, helping to successfully navigate the application process to secure Planning Permission, Listed Building and Scheduled Monument Consent for capital projects.
